Horsepower is furnished by a rebuilt 389ci Pontiac V8, an engine that was introduced in 1960 and became a mainstay of the Pontiac lineup for a decade. The engine was factory equipped with a Carter 4V and was rated at 325hp. (This carburetor was upgraded to an Edelbrock Performer four-barrel when the engine was rebuilt.) The motor is backed by a 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and stock differential. The solid chassis of this Grand Prix is equipped with coil-spring suspension, power steering, 4-wheel power disc/drum brakes w/dual-master and free-flowing exhaust.
