The replacement 426 Max Wedge V8 was overbored to displace 432ci during the refurbishment and is equipped with a cross-ram intake manifold and dual four-barrel carburetors. Additional equipment is said to include forged pistons, Childs & Albert piston rings, a forged crankshaft, a Comp Cams timing chain, and a Racer Brown ST-22 camshaft.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a push-button Torqueflite 727 three-speed automatic transmission.
