This is a very original, straight, solid, Rust free Porsche......with its only restoration in 1981, being cosmetic (paint and seats), and an upgraded blank cased, correct year, Super 90 engine installed to replace its original 1600 Super engine, and upgraded electrical from 6v to 12v. 1961 Ruby Red Porsche 356B T5
This is a very original, straight, solid, Rust free Porsche……with its only restoration in 1981, being cosmetic (paint and seats), and an upgraded blank cased, correct year, Super 90 engine installed to replace its original 1600 Super engine, and upgraded electrical from 6v to 12v. The only repaint, to its exterior only, to original Ruby Red, with door jams and dash untouched. The Paint still shines nicely after all these years (a couple of chips, here and there, that were touched up). Seats were recovered, in its original Black. The car has its original Carpet, and original soundproofing underneath it, Original factory options, Headrests, Arm rests, horn ring, Transmission lock (very rare on 1961), Chrome Wheels .
The Car is Matching #’s Transmission, doors, hatch, hood. Engine is now a Super 90,and runs beautifully (original numbers matching engine was a 1600 Super 70 hp). Driving this car feels tight, and smooth. Very quiet in the cab. I have owned and driven other 356’s, and this one drives like no other. It drives as if it just came off the factory line….amazing. Nice and tight, straight, and quiet. No smells (gas or exhaust) like some, and is unbelievably powerful. Shifts smoothly through all gears. does not pull, drives nice and straight. Steering is tight with no play. A real pleasure to drive.
